Race Event Change

The DTRA Board of Directors have announced a change in the schedule for the end of the season. The race event that way originally scheduled for the Iowa State Fair Speedway on Friday night September 12th has been canceled. To replace that event, a race has been scheduled for that same night, Friday, September 12th at the Marshalltown Speedway. The Board wishes to thank Toby Kruse and the Marshalltown Speedway for this last minute addition to their schedule. The Friday night event will be the opening night for the 2nd annual "Havoc on the High Banks" at the Marshalltown Speedway.

Meeting Scheduled - All Drivers, Truck Owners & Members

The DTRA Board of Directors have scheduled a meeting and wish to encourage all drivers, owners and DTRA members to attend. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 9th at Karl Chevrolet. The meeting will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. Topics scheduled for, but not limited to, discussion will be; the planning of the Annual Awards Banquet, DTRA schedule for 2009, and DTRA 2009 rules.

Date Set for Annual Awards Banquet

The Board of Directors wish to announce the the date for the Annual Awards Banquet has been set. The banquet will take place on Saturday night October 18th. The banquet will be held at Karl Chevrolet and will begin at 6:00 pm. There will be a social hour, supper, presentation of the 2008 awards and entertainment. There will also be a meeting for drivers and owners before the banquet, details and agenda for that meeting will be announced at after the next Board of Directors meeting.

Karl Chevrolet DTRA Series Shares Card with WoO Friday at the Knoxville Raceway

Ankeny, Iowa (June 5, 2008) – The Karl Chevrolet DTRA Series will share the racing card with the World of Outlaw sprint cars this Friday night at the famed Knoxville Raceway, Knoxville, Iowa. For the Dirt Trucks, Friday’s race will mark the first of several expanded purse races that are scheduled for 2008. The purse will be 1. 2,000, 2. 1,000, 3. 500, 4. 250, 5. 215, 6. 185, 7. 150, 8. and on out 100. This purse also reflects a minimum 100 dollars to start that was approved by the DTRA Board of Directors for all away races during the 2008 season.

In addition to the Friday night race events, drivers will be signing autographs between 5:00 and 5:55 p.m. right behind the grandstands. On Friday, WoO regulars Jac Haudenschild, Jason Meyers and Tim Shaffer are expected to join 2007 Knoxville track champion Brian Brown and Karl Chevrolet DTRA driver and Des Moines radio personality Lou Sipolt.

Knoxville Raceway and its Fans, Helping to Rebuild Attica. Attica, a small unincorporated town in Southern Marion County, was hit by an F2 tornado late last week which destroyed the town's Fire House, and several homes. Knoxville Raceway will donate a portion of each ticket sold during the World of Outlaws event this weekend. The two day event on June 6 and 7 is expected to draw as many as 20,000 spectators and fans for two great nights of racing. Knoxville Raceway will also set up an area this weekend where spectators may make additional donations as well.

June 2nd Event Postponed Until June 16th

The DTRA Event scheduled with the USMTS NASCAR Night has been postponed until Monday night June, 16th. Rain on Monday morning and the threat of thunder storms throughout the day forced USMTS and Iowa State Fair Speedway officials to postpone the event.

DTRA Events Pay Increased Purse

DTRA Board of Directors have announced that some DTRA events will include an increased pure for 2008. The events scheduled on June 6th at the Knoxville Raceway, June 10th at Marshalltown Speedway, June 23rd at Southern Iowa Speedway and August 11th at the Iowa State Fair Speedway during the 2008 Iowa State Fair wil be increased purse events. In addition to these increased purse events, drivers competing at travel events, all events other than Iowa State Fair Speedway events, will be eligible for a minimum of $100 tow money. As a reminder, all competitors competing in a DTRA sanctioned events, must be a current member in good standing with DTRA. Those 2008 memberships are now due.

2008 DTRA Memberships Are Now Due

Driver/Owner and General Memberships for the 2008 DTRA season are now due. Membership forms and information are available on the DTRA web site under the Membership tab. Membership is required to participate in any DTRA event. 2008 members will receive membership cards and must produce these cards when signing in for all 2008 DTRA events. DTRA Member Pat Fagen Loses Brother

Ankeny, Iowa (February 17, 2008) -- The DTRA Board of Directors, Members and Fans wish to express our condolences to DTRA Board Member, former Officer and competitor, Pat Fagen and the Fagen Family. News reached us this morning, that one of Pat's best friends and brother, Butch has passed away. Information on funeral arrangements will be posted as soon as details are confirmed. God Speed Butch.

The Funeral for Butch Fagen will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM, at the Grandview Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM

First 2008 DTRA Board Meeting Scheduled

Ankeny, Iowa (February 15, 2008) -- 2008 DTRA Board of Directors have called for their first meeting of the 2008 season. The meeting date is Wednesday, February 20th. The Meeting will be held in the meeting room at Karl Chevrolet and will start at 6:00 pm. The board members invite all DTRA members to attend. 2008 membership applications will be available and 2008 membership dues will be accepted.
